The design inspiration certainly clear, if not the source of the actual components :D

I'm not going to risk an online search, but I reckon it would be a safe bet that there's more than one Naturist choir out there.

There's a story that Crowded House went through a phase of rehearsing naked until someone, I think it was Neil Finn, managed to get himself caught in his guitar strings...

This is not a metaphor.

But it may be apocryphal.

Or maybe he was trying out that Flesh Pick. . .

I used to have a Gretsch White Falcon I always felt it needed to be paired with a '56 Cadillac and a somber, well cut black suit. Way outta my league tho I did buy it 'cause Stephens Still's famous guitar.

I sold it to the mother of a young church musician in South Carolina and they sent me a thank you letter saying "he sounds just like one of god's angels now." They sent me a pic and he's wearing an all white linen suit with a blue tie...looked sharp.

Take my advice, I'm not using it.

I’ve met a lot of shall we say "the older" kind of engineer/musician who insist on wearing cardigans or jumpers over a shirt and tie, I find this quite alarming, it always makes me think that the person involved is an "amateur" in some way, I don’t know why, but it does, if I was a client and my engineer came in dressed like that I’d be immediately very worried.
Also, brown shoes, Zappa was right they don’t make it, instant lack of confidence.
I’ve always wanted to turn up old school, either in a white or brown lab/workshop coat, white shirt and tie, and my old NHS Lennon style glasses.
They say clothes maketh the man, and they do, seeing an engineer in a lab coat, well, he must know what he’s doing?

.Actually anybody in a lab coat. And we would believe anything they say.
Hmmm time to rethink wardrobe!

How the heck did I manage a half duplicated post? Today’s tech award goes to me!

Left turn alert - I’ve been waiting almost 40 years for leather pants (ok, trousers) to come back in style for men. I have a really sharp pair in dark blue grey. I guess I can let that dream go. Although I would love to wear them to a gig sponsored by vegetarians or even vegans!
Back to our regular program.

Given the Internet status these days, it's way more likely that nobody would believe anything out of anyone wearing a lab coat! :D

Andy are you suggesting Back To The Future wasn’t a documentary based on fact?

You don't want a lab coat for credibility these days, too much like a L'Oreal advert.
For true credibility you need an old navy blue or mid brown dust coat, a thick set of plastic-rimmed glasses, and a pencil tucked behind your ear.
Like the chap in the middle here:

No-one arguing with him when he says you've taken off 10 thou too much and you need to start again.
