I think we need more musical roads. Surely the ultimate sign of a civilised society

Awesome! Loved them all. I actually looked into the harpejji a while back, it’s made here in the USA. Pricey, but super cool!

Why is it always crazy young Japanese men that come up with the weirdest misuse of technology for wacky musical purposes?

Not just for music. Some of the 'shortcut tech' they create is mind boggling.

Agreed Eddie - this stuff is amazing and often from Japanese guys and gals.

However, I should point out my long-term 'Daily Inspiration for the Sound Designer' thread does already cover stuff like this - and I posted this particular video about a month ago on it

I don't know about anyone else but sometimes it feels like I'm completely ignored on here.
Just me?

Not mentioned in the video but I always though Sailor's original Nickelodeon was quite a wacky idea, a mixture of piano, glockenspiel, synth and organ from what I've read, the glockenspiel being controlled by the piano keyboard and used door bell mechanisms and as such could be switched in and out. Designed so they could reproduce what was done on the studio live without needing extra musicians.
Here is a video of them using it live in the 70's, looks to have a chopped Odyssey and 2600 connected to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPGiLsdWZdo

I know what you mean.
Perhaps a good topic for a research grant.
