DAY 27.

Based on the Poly Rock preset. I’m always surprised at how organ-like the SubH can sound. This preset has a ‘perc organ’ sound to my ears.

One more preset to go!

DAY 28, and the end of the road for this deep dive!

FINAL THOUGHTS. The Subharmonicon is a surprisingly versatile instrument capable of being an excellent pair of analogue subtractive voices, a paraphonic analogue synth, or a stand alone generative workstation.

If I had to find fault with the SubH, it would be in it’s inability to chain the sequencers together and lack of scalar options in the quantizer.

Combined with external modules and used as a polyphonic voices is really when the SubH becomes interesting me, especially when you blend them with the combined output of the VCA.

Good one to finish on! It's been fun to follow along even if I haven't got a clue what any of it means. :D

Thanks, bd! Of course, as fun as the deep dive was, it's all just preparatory for writing a piece of actual music on the thing! :D

Love this one Ben, yet it sounds hauntingly familiar...

...and I've just remembered why - Soft Machine's 'The Soft Weed Factor' from 1973:

Now that's a compliment!
