For me a real spring reverb would be just as unwelcome, but I can report that this one does at least sound like you're playing inside a disused water tank - so there's some level of authenticity here.
HOWEVER... :headbang: :star: :o :madas:
This monstrosity has one very nasty additional surprise in store. It is, in fact, a mono reverb with the L/R channels in opposite polarity. At least it is on this one here. Flip it into mono and... the reverb disappears (almost a blessing, but still...).
Can anyone please confirm or deny that their B 2600 is the same? If they are all like this then there are going to be some red faces when stereo recordings featuring the 'spring' hit mono playback systems. If it's just mine then so be it. I'm as sure as I can be that there is nothing wrong with my connections. But I can't believe I'm the only person to notice this, if they are all the same? :headbang: :ugeek:
For myself it's pretty much a non-issue. I'd already made an insta-bypass around the reverb, even before it was switched on, and it will be returned and remain that way. It's taken from lunchtime until now for me to be even curious about the reverb.
