He's already teetering on the brink. You surely don't want to be the one to push him over :shh:

:)

Another thing that Mr Elf could do is just make a little box with no power for any passive modules so they don't use up space in the powered rack.

I know when I started up with Eurorack I mis-calculated the number of utility modules like mults and attenuators needed, a little box solved this. (Until I got more powered rack space :) )

No, big mistake, I’ve been down that route, you just end up wasting money on lots of little cases, instead of one, cheaper big one, get the case you need, realistically, or at least, room for expansion.
You have to ask yourself exactly how far you’re going to take this, which isn’t easy, sometimes you reach critical mass, and you just stop, it does all you need, but sometimes, you just keep going until you reach that point, some people never do, and their attitude is that it’s a constantly changing, evolving way of working, with no set boundaries, or "accepted" combinations of modules.
You can’t really draw any lines, you have to just accept the inevitable expenditure, and go with it, one way is to put a cap on your budget, and that’s your final restriction, like budgeting for any other synth.

That would be an ecumenical matter.

I have no need of passive modules. And I have no real desire for any other module beside the 2500 noise generator, which is a shame to miss, but I'll live with it. I've no interest in the 2500 S/H or ring modulator.

This small rack becomes both a capable self-contained synth (it has MIDI, USB and 1/4" audio outputs built in) *and* a worthwhile extension to the capabilities of the 2600. The 2600 will provide noise, LFO, additional oscillators and other utility functions (e.g. portamento). The 2500 will provide more capable envelopes and a multi-mode filter. It's a great combo.

Tough talk, I hope you can stick to it. :D

The only passive modules I have are Make Noise mults, and I've been slowly swapping them for buffered ones.

Tsk Tsk :D
You’re compromising Elf, there is no such word in Eurorack, you know you need that ARP noise……….

I can understand fully, if this Euro-job is with a 2600, a complement, but you have to be careful it doesn’t eclipse the ARP, so a small case is probably what’s needed, in this "case"

:)
