Uh-Oh temptation temptation.

Just noticed a VCS3 in readers ads, apparently unused, new model, very tempting, but also very naughty, and besides, my partner would kill me, or something even worse.

The advantage of Behringer clones is not only that they teach "patience is a virtue" but also that you can say

"its only a small synth" or

"its not as expensive as the original"

Blimey, even JMJ would baulk at that. I'm sure that there's someone out there who won't notice the hit in the wallet, but it's definitely not me...

Well, it’s cheap actually, for what it is, but I’m not tempted.
The Berry copy is in my mind, and that’s a big factor, and I’m sure it’s influencing other potential buyers too, and affecting sellers.
If it was an old model with a bit of history attached to it, then that’s another thing.

It wouldn't make it sound any better. That's the first thing I discount when I have someone trying to sell me a piece of kit. I've had several pieces of kit owned and used by 'names' and used on famous pieces of music, but... it didn't improve my music. ;)
