OK, I’ve looked at the prototype, these points could be deal breakers for a lot of people, including me.
OK, I’ll be blunt, it looks tacky, the knobs are too big, and the cap colours are too bright, and that VU meter, no, please, it makes it look so cheap, just put a plain plastic square one in there, the joystick is too plasticky, needs a longer, metal shaft.
I also suggest a bit more of a curve on the case edges.
Just giving a bit of feedback from a potential buyer.

hmmmmmm, :think: Im not sure. Its a bit of a funny photo, the knobs are reflecting in the black pin matrix but Seems in keeping with the original products - or maybe some weasle words like "capturing the style influences of the original time period".

You could pimp the knobs and possibly the VU meter if you wanted a more authentic copy but the Behringer looks more curvy than the original ????

Agree with Hugh. Arpangel, post it on their Facebook. But IMO you're incorrect. Consider the AKS.

Colours are quite muted in that AKS picture above. In a good picture, it's apparent the Behringer is spot on. with the garishness. For example:

The Behringer knobs are definitely brighter, and larger, and that VU meter is so naff, it’s really ladling on the corny nostalgia, really makes it look tacky.
The original knobs are a bit more subtle, and the caps blend in to the body of the knob a lot more, makes a big difference.
My one had the chrome knob caps, no colours at all.

To me, reminiscent of the infamous Welsh 'Minimoog, ironically. Close(ish) in looks, but no cigar.

I think the knobs are the same size as the original. It's just that the Behringer looks like a smaller overall form factor which makes then appear bigger and closer together.

Have to agree about the naff-ness of the VU meter. Have they bought out Ashdown?

That’s actually quiet sad, if a buyer doesn’t care about the looks of the thing, why are they buying it? just go and get some software, if that’s not important, and that VU meter lowers it to the level of a "retro" Crosley record player.
As for any compromises on size, if that happens, forget it.

If I may suggest Tony, you do seem to have a habit of projecting your personal preferences onto other potential buyers as if they are definitive.
I suspect that most of Behringer's audience have never seen most of these classic instruments in the flesh. They just want something that's fun, different and looks funky.
The VU meter to me looks absolutely fine.

I had access to a VC3 in about 1985-1987 at Hudds Poly. I couldn't have told you whether it even had a VU meter or not. As for the brightness of knobs I couldn't care less.

But I do remember the sound and the incredible effects it could make.

I don't like VST synths and would never pay for a Virtual VC3 but if I could get hands on a physical VC3 clone I most definitely would.

Just need some cash...
