I prefer the remake over the original: as Nigel said, it actually looks more sexycurvy than the ur object, and with a not unwelcome dash of colour, too.
But function is more important than form, of course, so if it does the job (and then some), I think it will sell like hot cross bunnies...or summat.

If you’re going to invest a lot of time and effort in research, getting the circuitry right, the sound, then please, have enough respect to get the appearance right, it’s not difficult, you just copy the original.
Someone has just released a reissue of the TVR Griffith, although a few changes have had to be made to satisfy current tastes and safety legislation.
The dashboard is now impact absorbing plastic that has a "walnut effect" finish, the instrument cluster is now an electronic display, it's switchable between a digital readout, and pleasingly retro looking "old style" analogue dials.
But more worrying are the dimensions of the car, it’s now only three quarters of it’s original size, it’s believed to make it more attractive to those who find it difficult to park, especially in Dalston.
The engine has been changed to a more modern energy efficient design, although giving just as much power, it doesn’t quit sound the same. And it goes without saying, this car is a hybrid, so no more high fuel costs.
But, apart from these compromises, it’s absolutely fine, and given its low price, it should sell like the proverbial hot-cakes, that is to people that have no idea what it was like to drive the original, and those that do remember wouldn’t dream of buying it, the lack of built-in speakers rattling in the doors, and a spring reverb boinging away in the fuel tank being the ultimate deal breakers.
