My SMpro 4M passive monitor controller failing.

Postby Gone To Lunch » Sat Aug 11, 2018 12:25 pm

Is there anyone in or around London who could repair this ?

The actual fault is that one of the output channels has lost its signal, and the corresponding button on the front panel will no longer lock when pressed in. Signals are fine through other outputs.

Alternatively, any suggestions for its replacement ? It is now discontinued.

Sounds like it requires a replacement switch. Chances are it will be a standard type and replaceable by any capable electronics technician.

But if you're looking for a very hgh qualit but affordable monitor controller, my stock budget recommendation is any of Drawmer's CMC/MC offerings. They are very well-equipped, well-built, perform to very high standard, and sound transparent... And are available in a variety of sizes and formats.

Thanks Hugh.

Who would you recommend to do the repair in Greater London ?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with technicians in that area... You could ask around the better music equipment retail shops, though, as they probably have tame technicians on their books.
