Hopefully there will be no roof drop! :D

Great progress Drew, exciting stuff!
Shouldn't be a problem. The unit has band-pass doors.

The guys set off from Oxfordshire at 3:30 yesterday morning and finished up at about 5:30. That's a pretty long day!

Not yet, but I reckon if we mentioned it enough on here we could make it one...

Well, I don't know about roof drop, but I saw them put the concrete piles in so there shouldn't be any bass drop...

I'll need to install a hanger for all these coats though... ;)

Well how else would they get in?

(See above!) :D

Do you have a name for the new addition to the family?

I suspect everyone here could suggest more than a few potential names! :D

Ha! Probably true, but at the moment she can't wait for me to 'move out' so that she can have her study. :)

Anyway, end of day two and they're done with this bit of the build. Back in a fortnight for caulking and plastering (once everything's had time to settle.

I know it makes no difference to the space itself, but I do like the way that you've left it framed by the two Acers :D (At least I think they're both Acers - struggling to make out the foliage on one of them)

Yep, it was a design decision, we're just hoping the one on the right survives its move. It's touch and go at the moment. :(

It does look it, but it's got an average roof height of 2.1m, and it's 3.97m by 3.47m inside. According to this: http://www.acoustic.ua/forms/calculator7_1.en.html it just squeezes into the EBU acceptability guidelines.
Just!

You do realise that once they've finished padding the walls and put your 'jacket' on, you'll find it a lot harder to type and be part of the forum. ;)

Nice, the wooden cladding looks really tidy. I'm sure the tree will be fine!

That’s a satisfying amount of progress! Has the manufacturer provided any figures for expected noise reduction?

They say up to 45dB, but given the amount of glass I have in there I don't think we're going to be up at those levels. But putting a room up with no windows wouldn't have gone well with the other half (or me actually) and would have made any future resale a big issue.
So it's another of those compromises...
Using a free app last night I was getting a signal of around 30-40dB outside and about 20 inside. But it was pretty quiet round here and I really don't trust that app.
I've got a proper meter on the buy list so I'll be able to give some numbers when it's complete; there's still some caulking to do.
