How did you stuff the rockwool inside that shiny white bass trap?

Technically, it's a shiny white double bass trap. :D

Just caught up with this - really nice work Drew, looks like a lovely space and you're no muppet that's for sure

Looking great! I’m about final result rather than fine aesthetics so I know about the muppet construction look.
Btw - is that the 3/4s bass? It looks huge in there.

I think there's a bit of a lens distortion effect there, it's a normal 3/4 size.
Made the other two frames today but no more photos as they'd basically look the same.
Should be getting rid of the desk tomorrow though, which will give me enough space to work inside on the next stages so I'll be less weather-dependent.

Progress during the week was kyboshed by that little thing that we refer to as work. Well, those of us who haven't retired yet...
But this weekend was a bit more productive.
Cut and PVA-ing rockwool for a couple of corners:

One corner frame with rockwool stuffed:

And one finished frame:

Not fully installed yet but you get the idea.
2 corners done, 2 just need stuffing and cara-ing.

And then that's the easy bit done...

It's basically just shelf space as there won't be much elsewhere. It's a compromise (another) between getting the bass trapping in the corners but still leaving me a functional space.
So that back corner, for example, may just have a lamp in it or a box of bits or a grotbox etc. etc.

I didn't think of that, my corner bass traps are floor to ceiling (I didn't have power sockets in there though). Which begs the question, what determines the efficacy of a corner trap, the frontal area, the volume or the total 'open surface'?

Looking very nice Drew, kinda envious (though I do still like my room). Perhaps we should all arrange reciprocal studio visits (visitors to supply the tea and hobnobs)?
