3D Printing

Postby Alba » Sat Jan 11, 2020 12:13 pm

I just bought a little AT to USB converter and noticed the company selling 3D printers at sub a hundred quid!

A little more research has revealed a whole world of resources, vendors and so on.

Anyone into it? I'm fascinated by the possibilities as someone who loves making and repairing things.

(Hmmm ... this might be better off on the DIY board.)

The cheap printers don't have great resolution, so are fine for larger items that you can sand down and smooth off, but not so good if you want fine detail.

One of these is definitely on the to-do list. I've been tinkering with 3D modelling for years, but haven't got as far as a physical manifestation yet. (Sounds like ectoplasm. Actually they're very similar.)
