hey guys,

Just saw this img.techpowerup.org/170425/2017-04-24-20h26-36.jpg

and the lady said she creates these theroy maps to map out the scale a measure is in and the chord.

However for me this gets difficult. In the song I am learning the Bass clef measure has

In the song I am learning the Bass clef measure has

Below middle octave ) C and G then Middle octave ) C

So I know the scale is C

But what cord would I write? there isnt a chord in the C scale like I-VI that contains those notes...

I think you may have missed part of the idea. You need to analyse the whole tune or at least a lot of it first to find out the key. In that one bar/measure with only two different notes you don't even know if the key you're in is C major or C minor. Or it may not be C at all, it could even be G or Am or F or any of the other keys with a C and G in.

For example if the tune ends up being in F then the chord for that bar/measure could be a V or V7 (C,E,G,Bb). If the tune is in C it's probably a I (C,E,G) or (C,Eb,G) if it's C minor.
