Well yes, guitarists can - and often do - get themselves into all sorts of blind allies regarding music theory. Partly because of the tendency to see chords as entities rather than as the combination of melodic lines, partly because they often seem to get into improvisation 'scale over chord' before absorbing much repertoire through reading notation.
They can often be saved though :-)

You don't have to write songs. The world doesn't want you to write songs. It would probably prefer it if you didn't. So write songs if you want to. Otherwise, dont bore us with beefing about it. Go fishing instead.
