Just recorded my first song, Waves

Postby Wyldelife » Mon Apr 20, 2020 3:43 pm

Just finsihed my first original song and would love some critique on it.

I recorded this in Reaper and did not use any VST, only analog gear.
I made a lyric video to make the lyrics more visible for people.
It's a waterbased song that basically deals with being stuck in routines and patterns of behaviour that ultimately have a negative effect.
This is likened to being stuck all alone in the middle of the ocean trying to get back to land, but not having the strength to do so.

You don't have to write songs. The world doesn't want you to write songs. It would probably prefer it if you didn't. So write songs if you want to. Otherwise, dont bore us with beefing about it. Go fishing instead.

Very good indeed. That's the song, the performance, and the vid.

Great vocals. Nice tune! Production is really good, top marks.

Not sure if you even needed to add the captions to the video - the lyrics are perfectly clear and well sung.

That was great! Reminds me of vintage Pink Floyd. I love the completeness of the idea, sounds like a song that's gone through a lot of work and came out of the process at its perfect fighting weight.

I am envious of people that can write short songs! This would barely qualify as an intro to one of my songs lol.

I loved the video style as well, the whole thing is great!
