You should also check out 80s ZZ Top, lots of sequenced stuff there. But still guitar based.

The first example that sprung to mind for me is Neu! I've two of their albums, the best being "Neu! 75"; half the album is "electronica" and the other half is closer to punk. It's brilliant, seriously well worth a listen.

You might want to check out Master Boot Record, it's about as metal as synth music can get:

You might also have a listen to Skinny Puppy or Download. It's Industrial, but there are a lot of elements that could cross over.

if you liked Pendulum You Might Check Out....MODESTEP
Old School Techno DJ here, that grew up on Rock. I found this band a few yrs ago and appreciated the mixture of rock and EDM. I find the Album "London Road" a good Listen in the old continuous album format. Effectively blends the technical and emotional aspects of Tech Rock me thinks. The Little 10 min Promo video for the album on Utube is pretty a cool taste. I find their older work a little cheesy, but with more shredding guitar maybe.

ozric tenticals are quite uptempo when the mood takes them..i love the blend of rock and electronica they deliver..
90's band called senser ,they remind me of rage against the machine with a synth player
shpongle..wouldnt call it rock but some tracks do "rock" kinda!!

The Ozrics do tend in my experience to be a marmite band. I have their album Arborescence in my CD collection and love it, but various of my friends have over the years asked for it to be taken off as they find it 'grating'. ;)
Good job we're all different!

i agree..my wife hates them..i can listen to them all day..i bought the album pungent efflugent when i was a young lad and was instantly blown away..i have a very vivid memory of placing the needle on the record and thinking holy shit "whats making that noise" i honestly couldnt tell what was guitar and what was synth or bass guitar

I was aware of OT but hadn't really given them a proper listen, I had forgotten about them until I read your previous post so I ended up spending an hour yesterday listening and reading about them. Now bookmarked, thanks for the reminder.

Still taking this recording lark seriously (and trying to record my Gypsy Jazz CD)........
Re: Examples of Electronic "rock" music.
Dance with the Dead would be similar to the mentioned Master Boot Record, albeit more upbeat (there is that word Dance in the bands name, after all!)

Hi, if you’re still interested:
Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine
Nine Inch Nails
Nitzer Ebb
Fatima Mansions
In fact there’s a whole genre of industrial rock that have heavy use of synths and drum machines.
Cheers!
