Radio mic frequency question

Postby DanR » Fri Sep 07, 2018 6:09 pm

Hi
Our band has been asked if we have a radio mic for speeches. We have three and I know
from a post a while ago that my AKG WMS40 dual mic system is now illegal to use (UK69A 854.900 MHz and UK69B 858.200 MHz).
We also have a Skytronic UHF hand held mic on frequency 864.7 MHz that works ok. Just wondering if anybody knows if that frequency is still ok to use.
Have Googled a bit but unable to get a clear idea.
Any help appreciated.

Between 863MHz and 865MHz is license free in the UK. That frequency range can be a little crowded as it's the only free bit of bandwidth available, so if other people are using UHF gear close by you may need to alter frequencies a little to avoid interference.

The Ofcom website is the place to look for further details.
