mixer, tablet and wireless table for on stage....

Postby hankstains » Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:18 pm

Hi guys, looking for some inspiration, been playing for years with small and big bands, always had an engineer or mate who would look after the mixer, normally on a stage snake and out front somewhere, big amps and speakers etc, way too much gear but lots of fun.
Too old for that crap now so have set up a duo with a singer, I am playing my guitar and we are singing/playing to backing tracks. sounds really good.
Paired down all the equipment so now use a boss me80 straight into a behringer xenyx 1204 mixer and into powered Wharfedale epv15s. Great sound. we both use in ear monitoring.

Here is the question. :headbang:

Looking for a table/stand to put the mixer on and the tablet to play the backing tracks and the in ear monitoring stuff, but want it next to me on stage on something nice and discrete. seen dj mixing tables and mixer stands but either too big or too small, anyone use or seen anything similar or have any ideas.......don't mind getting the welder out just need some inspiration.....

If the idea is good enough might make a few.......

For a tablet here are the all-in-one stands or mounted to a mic stand (which is what I did)

I'm not sure about a mixer + tablet (I had a laptop stand with the iPad inside a Mackie DL806) but have a scoot around the Thomann site

I have a little pvc folding table that fits mixer and associated detritus on top and cases underneath. Cables and short multicore are fixed (reusable cable ties) to the legs, which are adjustable for height.

If I need it I have it, if not it stays in the car.

There is a running joke about throwing up a few rolls of flock during the break but it hasn't been actionable so far.

thanks guys, some good advice, think I'll end up with a hybrid of the two ideas, love the table, does look like a papering table, guess it's not 8ft long.......

If you were to draft in something like one of the Behringer XR12/18 or such you would have everything on stage, connected locally and no need for wireless.

Decent heavy mic stand, one of the tablet holders, and something like this:
