Normally those are perfectly sensible suggestions but I'm afraid I mix in circles where those tools are ineffective or might even have a rousing effect on the herd.

Pipes and banjos? All you need to add are accordions for the holy trinity. :)

Remember : light the match _AFTER_ you pour the paraffin

A small, yet significant, point.... :D

Nice see some chirpy responses!

Well, i decided to have a change of career last March and secured a full time post in the AV industry, needless to say, I've worn out some broom heads in the last 14 months.

Picking up slowly but were still only at 25% - Gig wise, I've a few bits booked in but quickly went from potentially working 60 consecutive days in July & August to planning quite a few weekends away in the T5

Sorry, missed this earlier. Local digital radio - https://yorkmix.com/radio/ I'm on at 8:10 in the morning apparently.
I didn't know there was an 8:10 in the morning...?

I listened to that on the internet. Well done ! you survived & then some.... as did your song; it seemed to be less affected by the mangling compressor than the preceeding Bony M track.

Hi Drew!

Did your interview get recorded and preserved for posterity?

I did visit the site and performed a site-related search for 'Southern Wild' and 'Drew Stephenson', but neither turned up any results.

I listened to it yesterday. The site has a 'Listen Again' link which opens a popup to select the show and day. I found the breakfast show for the 4th June and it is about 1:40:00 in.

Here's a copy a friend made: https://soundcloud.com/the-southern-wil ... radio-file
Irritatingly it didn't occur to me until afterwards. :headbang:
I did mean to ask about broadcast compressors but I'll start another thread on that.
And thank you all for listening.

Good listen, and you came across really well in the flesh Drew.

Not sure about their use of broadcast compressors though - your track was really pumping :(

Still sounded good though!

I think that sounds a lot clearer than the internet-listen-again version that I listened to.
I remember it being heaver/darker/more pumped. It *was* early in the morning and I was having a surreal time, so maybe it was my ears. I tried to re-listen again but the York Radios archive doesnt go that far back now.

I googled broadcast compressor and it suggested a multiband compressor followed by a limiter. Apparently the transmitter must definitely not be overloaded otherwise it will splat RF into other frequency bands.
