Post Guidelines for User Reports

Postby Forum Admin » Tue Sep 14, 2004 11:26 am

Fancy yourself as an SOS Reviewer? Use this dedicated forum to post your self-penned user reports/reviews of equipment/software/instruments that you own and/or use regularly

NOTE: before posting a new User Report (topic) please check whether one is already in existence for your product. If it is, please post your own Review/Report as a Reply to this existing thread so that the messages remain together. This will prove more useful to readers.

While we wish to encourage everyone who owns gear to write a Report of their own, we do not expect all reports to be 3000 word essays and look/feel like a magazine article. Naturally, we encourage all authors to utilise the Bold/Itals etc UBBcode buttons in the Post window to identify sub-heads and useful info, as this helps clarification and understanding, but please show restraint when using multi-coloured type. :)

All forum members are interested in genuine valuable insight about products that informs the would-be purchaser/user of the gear, not simply typical forum-style one-liners telling people not to buy product X — save that for the general discussion forums please.

Ideally, each Report should be a minimum of a few hundred words and feel free to explain why you dislike or like certain features about the product in question. We're looking for real-world longterm feedback on products, how they behave after months of use, what goes wrong, what functions you use all the time, while pointing out well-designed and poorly-designed/implemented features as well as any insider tips on clever/unusual ways you have used the gear or other kit that worked well in conjunction with the product. Basically, as much detail as you can offer.
