Hi , Just a quick review of a useful little box. I do pub gigs as a singing drummer and due to a knackered throat , I do not have the power I once had. My solution has been to use this Art box next to me onstage. My mic goes in , then goes out again to the desk, but the signal is split internally so that I have a headphone send, volume controlled, to monitor my own voice. If I want there is also a monitor return, which has it's own volume pot...this allows me to add a feed from the desk if I wish.
I have used this a couple of times now with Sennheiser HD 202, and it has transformed my performances...no more strain, much more feel, far less danger of feedback. It's about £50, and has OK sound quality. The mic thru function doesn't seem to affect the mic signal too much for a pub gig at least. The headphone amp is basic , but does the job.
Maybe Orchid electronics could give this a go....... Dave

What were you using before, Dave?

(And when you say 'singing drummer' I presume you mean in a band? I quite like the idea of a one-man band who is just a singing drummer, though.)

Hi, Before this I was using an old Mackie SRM 350 at my feet..which was great except 1) it took up more space 2) it is extra weight 3) quick set up sometimes meant constant fiddling throughout the gig. I use an OM5 so feedback was never an issue....and yes I am in a band ...23 years together, old friends ...and exactly the same set list!! Dave :D
