SOS Tutorials?

Postby wireman » Sat Dec 29, 2018 9:33 am

Not clear to me why I should receive 3 emails this morning about SOS Tutorials that only appear to differ in subject line.
And if I click on a link in the email I am taken to a page where no useful content loads (two different browsers).

I came on here to post about the same thing and I see Wireman got here first. I assume it must be an error because I'm sure SOS's marketing people are well aware that repetition doesn't compel attention, only annoyance.

I've had seven messages this morning. Highly irritating, but a useful reminder to unsubscribe from the increasing amount of SOS spam.

I had three arrive overnight and another a few minutes ago. The last told me there was 50% off holiday savings so that'll be 50% off the 50% saving... That adds up to 25% off :headbang:

That's really strange - I haven't had one email from SOS thus far today.

However, since they only seem to concern the SOS Tutorial content, I strongly suspect that these promotions have come from the originators of those tutorials (NonLinear Educating Inc.), rather than SOS itself, especially since the bulk of the SOS team are still on holiday at the moment.

I've had a couple of similar emails from other tutorial web sites in the last couple of days, which would support my theory ;)

However, the email Mailchimp template looks more like a NonLinear Educating one, and is rather more cheap/tacky-looking than I expect of the SOS team. I mean, I'm pretty sure the "!! BUY NOW !!" button would not be part of the SOS style guide... ;)

Like Martin I've not received any of these emails.

But I think Desmond has hit the nail squarely on the head.
