How exactly does the search function on this forum do its stuff...? If you dial up kenton, for instance, it fetches examples from 2010 and 2014 in no apparent order, but ignores the post from a few days ago that I was actually looking for...(?)

It is obviously a Deus Ex Machina as it moves in mysterious ways.

and recently got more useless, I no longer seem able to sort by date
previously i could at least stick some fundamental search terms in to go back to posts I meant to keep track of.... and sort by date to get the most recent , but the recent rejig of the function has fubarred the thing...
put it back and stop playing with the search function boyos it was fine, if a little simple to begin with.
