iPad subscription query.

Postby Dan LB » Sat Dec 23, 2017 9:06 pm

I have an iPad subscription (renewed from my iPad directly a few moths ago) - should I be able to access the magazine articles on the website via my desktop also?

Yes but I subscribed via the SOS app on iPad. I'm locked out of web access

It's generally better to subscribe to things directly as don't Apple take a cut even for subscriptions? They used to but not sure these days.
That way you either save money or it all goes to the 3rd party and I'm sure SOS are more deserving than Apple in the sense that Apple can afford to take the hit. :)

Yes, Apple takes a cut if you buy via them, but more importantly, they don't pass on the subscriber details so SOS can't provide the same level of support that it can for direct subscribers.

As for the web access, it depends which package you bought; there are various bundle subscriptions via the SOS shop which include (for example) the web and tablet, but a tablet subscription via Apple may well be just the tablet.

The SOS offices are shut now until the new year, but I suggest you contact the subscription department then to sort out an appropriate subscription deal that provides the access you require.
