Page / comment load errors

Postby blinddrew » Sat Jan 20, 2018 2:16 pm

I'm getting quite a few errors when trying to post comments, the message is along the lines of 'page not responding' (I'll grab a screenshot next time). Hitting refresh takes me back to the composer window but (fortunately) shows the comment has already been published.
This has happened a fair bit over the last few days on 3 different machines and networks.

We have boffins digging around to find the cause.

It might be helpful if you could let us know which browser you are using, just in case it gives them an extra clue.

If you answer here, I'll make sure the info get's to the right person.

Chrome in all cases actually, haven't tried it on anything else.

Less common for me now, but still quite a lot of hesitation when posting. Firefox on WIn 10.

I'm aware that many people are having issues but I've not really seen anything here (with Chrome on Windows 10). I understand that many others are fine too so I was wondering whether it might be an ISP/routing related issue rather than browser related?

That was my initial thought James, but I've had it at home (2 machines), on my mobile via 4G and at work (ssh!) - so that's three different networks.
That being said, none of them are particularly good networks...

EDIT: Actually I've just done a check and I'm getting 42Mb down and 19 up at the moment.
But then, the site is behaving itself at the moment...

Thanks again, I've already emailed a link to this thread to the boffins.

Thanks Andy, it's obviously no biggie but sometimes I forget to hit CTRL+A, CTRL+C at the end of a comment. ;)
