inconsistent forum content

Postby Watchmaker » Sun Feb 28, 2021 10:42 pm

Greetings. Of late I've noticed that some forum topics appear empty in the sidebar. That is, when I navigate to the forum, in the right-side frame that shows recent forum activity, the displayed names of individual threads is sometimes blank.

Today I saw a forum heading "Fire". When I clicked the link, the actual thread is titled "Fabric for panels?" Link below. I'm also linking to a screenshot which shows the thread titled as "Fire" in a response to the original post. Seems odd to me that the thread title would change. I need no follow up, just wanted to point out a possible bug or vulnerability.

Not sure about the first bit, but Fire is the title of that post, not the thread, and that's what shows up in the recent posts bit.

Ignore the post count, I have no idea what I'm doing...

Perfectly consistent forum content

There's a simple explanation for that - you can change the title of a post when you create it as I've done for this one. I presume Dan felt that a different title was more appropriate for the point he was making.

I still think it's weird but thanks for explaining!
