I have a second intro to a song played on a piano that I just need written onto some sheet music.
Its not that complicated, its just that my aural skills are not that great.
Here's the link to the file.

Was that recorded 'to tape' (i.e. to an audio track) or was midi involved at some stage? rendering a midi track to notation is pretty straightforward in most DAWs and doesn't require any transcription skills.
Nice intro BTW.

This is a an audio track not a midi track of any kind. Its an old recording, not really my work. I just want to play this on the piano. Its just that my aural skills are not that great.
hope that helps.

Not at the studio right now, but if you have Melodyine it finds out for which which notes are in the audio. Also the iphone sound recorder finds at least some harmony..

I just checked out Melodyne. Should be good for analysing my vocals and detecting problems with my pitch, as well as helping transcribe.
The only version I'd be able to afford is the Essentials one. Would that still give me the editor where it shows the audio against a piano roll? This is, frankly, the only thing that interests me.

Never mind! I searched and found a YouTube video.
Will download the trial and decide then. Yet another thing to spend my money on...

You could try installing this Win/Mac utility and process your MP3 with it to generate the MIDI?

Hi Baldo
I'm away from Studio One Pro, which has Melodyne in it, so I downloaded the WIDI demo, which allows 10 seconds audio-to-MIDI conversion. It managed something... so have sent the MIDI file by direct email to you.
I then loaded the MIDI file into Logic and saved the score as a PDF - have sent this separately to you also. No idea how accurate it is, but it sounds close to your MP3 audio.
Hope they're of some use.

Yes, the grey/white grid with notes up the lefthand side is the main Melodyne window and is available in Essentials.

Thanks! I don't need it at the precise moment, but when I get to that point, I'll download the trial, and if I like it, its about £90 (on current exchange rate) so is affordable.

If all you're looking for is some way to pitch-correct your vocals, then Melda Productions offer MAutoPitch: see https://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutoPitch -- it's FREE, so definitely worth checking out.

Re: can someone write these notes onto sheet music for me please
Thanks, but I already have MAutoPitch, but I don't want the pitch correction. I just want to be able to see the notes easily on pre-recorded vocals so I can see exactly where in the song I'm off.
Also I'd be using it to transcribe into sheet music some of my own compositions.
Thanks again

Btw I listened to it and it’s a very simple melody, if you just want the notes I’ll write them down if I can find 5mins in the weekend with a guitar in my hands. No piano arrangement tough as I don’t play piano :)
