I’ve just realised that the acronym for One Synth Challenge is, rather pleasingly, OSC :bouncy:

It is indeed D-Day. I'm excited.

Quick note for submissions : if you are using Soundcloud, then please remember to mark it as 'downloadable'. Once I've got it, then I'll PM you and you can then turn that off, but I'd like the best possible resolution for my uploads so I can do your track justice.

Come on lads - last push and we're there!! :)

I did think of a title for a boingy bass-lead piece - "Jarre Wobble". But having no synth, limited time, and equally limited compositional abilities I will have to delay doing anything with it for at least a year or so.

Looking forward to hearing the submissions for this, the last one was cool - so ears at the ready!

Blimey. It goes quiet and then a bunch all arrive at once! Lucky I have my spreadsheet at the ready to track them.

Currently, we are up to 9 entries. Which is nice. I'll see if anyone pops any more in overnight and build the playlist some time tomorrow.

So congrats to those who have sumitted and 'you can make it' to anyone still beavering away.

Sadly/happily I had a job come up that pays the rent so I have to bow out too. Looking forward to hearing what you other geniuses come up with!

Brace youselves .....

:D

It's time for the tracks to be revealed. In all, there are 10 this time. There's a strong analogue theme in this batch and a couple of plugins to keep things fresh. I think it's a nice mixture and everyone should hold their head high and feel offiicially 'chuffed'.

Enjoy!

Ooh, these are great!

In the spirit of the competition, I have given these anonymous tracks some temporary titles inspired by what influences occurred to me as I listened, to help folk distinguish between them:

Track 1 - Chariots On Fire Blade Running

Track 2 - Roobarb and Custard's Tales of the Unexpected

Track 3 - Tonto's Expanding Bob Marley Band

Track 4 - Phantom Of The Operatic Extravaganza

Track 5 - Alka Seltzer to the Triumphant Rescue

Track 6 - Michael Flatley Cathedral Clog Dance

Track 7 - The Girl From Ipanematoid

Track 8 - Soft Cell Twinkletoes

Track 9 - Jetsons play Kraftwerk

Track 10 - Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park

(just a bit of fun folks - not to be taken seriously) ;)

I loved them all, and a lot of work has obviously gone into them. Cool!!! 8-)

I'm glad I had to bow out, no way would my entry have been that good!

Well done to all those who made it. They all sound great, and some were really outstanding!

Just had a first listen. Some very impressive work there.
I would suggest that if anyone is taking part and wants to do reviews of the other tracks, that they also review their own track... otherwise it makes it a bit obvious which it is

Phew! I'm glad that my comments were taken in the enthusiastic spirit in which they were intended - I was truly impressed at the quality and incredible diversity of these entries ;)

I personally think that Martin had these names on file for years and was just waiting for the right time to use them ....

:D

So, any initial thoughts as to who may have written what? Anything jump out?

Would a list of who submitted help?
