Hello folks - looking for some helpful opinions.
I’m currently stuck in the unsupported backwater of Logic 9 running on a PPC G5 - integrated beautifully though with MOTU 2408 mk 3 - giving me 24 digital i/o to a Tascam DM24 - everything clocked and interconnected with other outboard, external CD - R, etc by a Drawmer M-clock.
But . . . I am missing the prospect of accessing plugins available on Logic X.
I’m seriously contemplating a MacBook Pro - for that reason.
1j However - a complete changeover would mean expensive integration with the existing MOTU/Tascam combo (which I love).
2) Integration of Logic X audio output into the existing Logic 9 system would require audio synchronisation from the new MacBook Pro.
If you have any opinions on either option 1) or 2) - helpful bits of kit, converters etc. - please chime in.
Many thanks.

Re: Mac quandry . . .
The MOTU would work with a modern mac/os wouldn’t it?
Or am I missing something?

Re: Mac quandry . . .
Many thanks guys - the expansion chassis for the PCI component of the MOTU system seems like the way to go.
Presumably there will be a version of MOTU Audio Console which integrates with Logic X and the new Mac OS.
Presumably also, I could use the MBP on dual screen hookup to my existing 27"
Dell monitor.
This is all starting to sound very promising.
Thank you again.

Cool!
Please let us know how it goes. I have an RME PCIe in my old G5 that I would like to resurrect if possible... if not too expensive.
Cheers!

A stable system is something to be deeply valued. If you know it and can make music on it think twice before fiddling. I am still recovering from my last upgrade. Not my final one though...good luck!
