This is a strange little tune but a lot of thought went into the note structure. I wanted as much as possible to not have notes overlap so made careful gate choice, on top of this I used the intensity feature of the generator along with a a slow lfo that I timed to trigger the second generator roughly every other 16 steps making a change to the gate pattern and causing the speeding up of the arp sound of the second polymath.

The Polymaths are playing paraphonic chords, the first one designed to sound almost like a voice.

The Fuse box is playing an Arp again designed to complement the other gates and overlap as little as possible.

So whilst its a weird song it was planned out to some degree!

I did a video to show how simple and quick it is to change the Generator gate pattern

4 Basslines, 4 Twists of a knob

This is a moody piece I did based around the theme of thew Hindeburg disaster

Bass is live played Leipzig, Generator is sequencing the Polymath Arp

Really pleased how it turned out.

Now that kick's more like it Davy! 8-)

Love the 'breathing' quality of this mix too

My favourite section is from 2:32 onwards, when it really locks into a slow groove.

This one's a keeper! :ugeek:

Martin

Thanks Martin

I wanted to sit down and come up with something complete as opposed to a concept or demo which I use to practice or try out ideas and learn from. I felt it all fell into place in that song, I kept it minimal and raw, I am more than happy with how it turned out

And yeah I finally sort the unruly kick, it can be tricky as I use synths with no presets/memory recall so every sound is done from scratch so can occasionally be hit or miss, but it's a really satisfying way to make music. Kind of like Denis Waterman in Little Britain :D "I'm going to write the toon, sing the toon......"

Yep - that last one is hitting the spot. I like the higher groove over the bass ... and oh, that bass ... it's a living thing isn't it :)

Ta Eddy.

The bass was from a Leipzig SK, it sits on the desk beside my work computer so I made that Bass patch whilst working :D and thought it would be great for a song  So covered up the Synth so that prying hands wouldn't turn the knobs and wreck the patch before I got to use it :D

I uploaded the video of Hindenburg before it became Hindenburg, it was initially called Short Wave Radio, before I decided to darken the theme

Used the Fusebox for this one

Generators are sequencing 2 Polymaths and clocking the Fusebox which I transpose from its keypad.

At last a piece which isn't dominated by the kick drum. I'm sorry, this is not your fault and I know it's me that's out of step but I have a deep dislike of kick drum as a loud element in much modern music and it really gets in the way for me. Here, it doesn't, it's just part of the general percussion and the music is coming through much more. Very nice.

Ta Concertina, it's a hard balance to strike as people's likes and dislikes are so varied, as in Martin on here and Eddie like a nice thumpy kick and your good self prefers a kick with less presence. Lucky I have a habit of making loads of music so can cater for all :D

I've been more focused recently on creating videos more musical in structure and will continue to do so as I want to eventually to make an album just for the experience and satisfaction of doing so and have been trying out various ideas.

In fact I'm up now at 4am! about to try out a few more things  I always get ideas in the middle of the night and then can't wait to try them out so get up and do it :D

This is a long one, I sort of got into the flow and time went by.

I used the Qu32 stereo output as the final mix so it is as played and not touched after, just bounced as an mp3

I've 2 Generator sequencers paired with the Polymaths and the do a combination of live transpose and auto transpose and tweak and mix as I go.

Another just make it up as you go session. I prefer doing this as it's more fun :D

Did a full song again

Raw Analogue, little processing bar reverb on the Bass

No Midi used, just sequencing and Live play

Bass is the Leipzig Sk, I used the lfo to modulate the sound and got it in time by using a bPM monitor in logic

Polymath Arp - Sequenced by the Generator

Percussion Telemark and Nyborg 24

It's a kind of Dark, Foreboding Song
