Great to hear from you Mike, it's so good to have you back.

Sorry to hear about the HD failure - lesson for us all there!

Spooky!
It was only yesterday that I was wondering what you were up to these days. Good to see you here again.

I've had aging hard drives behave in strange ways, and have taken the attitude that they present a risk that makes them not worth keeping. As mentioned, the PSU might also be worth a check.

I'm genuinely touched by all your 'welcome back' messages...

As for the troublesome disc... it gets it's power via USB and only plays-up when connected to the Cymatic. Your comments lead me to believe that the Cymatic may not be supplying required volts/current for this Lacie drive as this drive was always totally reliable when used with my Touchmix - now 'moved on'.... I said there'd been some changes!

Ah-Ha! The thot plickens :)
I once had that with a drive on a USB adaptor. Installed it 'properly' and no further problems.

Must be a Lacie thing :) Was the same for mine - it was attached to a laptop via USB and I never thought of trying it with another host. Perhaps it's the combination.
