Interesting DIY plate reverb build from an Ikea table on YouTube.

I saw this original video a short while ago about someone making a plate reverb from some Ikea kit parts and thought it was interesting, but a bit flawed.

Then they updated the design after a couple of weeks to come up with an improved version which was a lot better.

It's still not perfect and the piezos really need to run into 10+ megohms for a flat response (though you may not want that in this application). A better adjustable damping solution really needs to be found. You'd also want to add some pre-delay and some high and low pass filtering from within your DAW, but nothing that's not really easy to do.

But even so, the results still sound pretty neat.

That really is rather good. And I really like his can-do attitude - very positive outlook.

Nice work!

Ikea really do seem to have some useful kit for musicians - their RAST Nightstand pops up all over the place as a bargain rack unit

Part 3 of the plate reverb build. https://youtu.be/u0uCagTClYA

Nothing new in the design, but mainly making some impulse responses with it.
