Yep, just downloaded it. Was a fast download, shame about the lengthy Safari download, especially as it insisted on downloading twice.
:headbang:
But the GarageBand download was quick too.

Re: Logic Pro X 10.4.3 Is out...
The security update failed to install and left me with a machine that would only boot to a "Macos can't install" screen. Acting on a hunch I restarted and pressed the Option key to get the startup manager and selected Mac HD, whereupon the machine started normally and has been fine ever since. However I'm still being offered the security update which I am now feeling somewhat edgy about applying. Think I'll probably drop the mess on Apple support when I get time.

Macos can't install"
Had same issue, in the end I booted to restore, it downloaded the OS again and then the security patch worked fine. A bit troubling though. But my first use of one of the safe boot options in OSX since I started using Macs - which I suppose is not bad going
If you’re still under AppleCare I’d do what you suggested first, I had no choice but to move out of my comfort zone.... :frown:
I do wonder a little about Apples software QA at the mo, particularly after my OS experience and the previous logic update (10.4.2) which seemed to be problematic.
A blip perhaps.

I'm a little concerned about that too. Perhaps they're taking a leaf out of M$'s book, who laid off most of their QA staff a couple of years back and are now reaping the "rewards" in the shape of a series of thoroughly shoddy software updates.
I do have Applecare, BTW, which is why I'll let support have it. Applecare for the iMac Pro is priced the same as for the cheapest iMac, which means it cost under 3% of the machine purchase price. For an extra 2 years support and repair that seemed and still seems a bargain.

Re: Logic Pro X 10.4.3 Is out...
Apple suggested trying the update under safe mode (first time I've ever had to use it too) and it worked, so kudos to support there. I think, though, I'll always do a Superduper drive duplicate before a system update in future. Lesson learned.

As I have finished work I thought I would risk the update.
It repeatedly failed for me as well, same as the last one did.
I have never had an issue running updates until the last two, does make you wonder what is going on in Apple.

Same thing here. Come on Apple, get a grip, this is disgraceful. Like CC the system info says I'm on .6 but this App Store is offering me it still.

And now when I wake it from Sleep it doesn't see my external monitor. Can't tell you how pissed off this makes me with Apple. I wouldn't mind if I'd loaded some dodgy software from a third party but when Apple's own small update causes these sorts of issues it's unacceptable.

Re: Logic Pro X 10.4.3 Is out...
The update worked for me but I have times when the machine (running Sierra) gets confused as to my monitor set up. Sometimes zapping the PRAM helps. Sometimes it's just a reboot. Its random and I suspect Sierra doesn't like my 2010 tower.
A few times a year I run Disk Warrior on my boot drive and maybe this helps.

Re: Logic Pro X 10.4.3 Is out...
Something odd in the screen handling, definitely. Occasionally, once a month or so, on waking up the screen of my iMac stays black while my Tbolt second screen returns. Because I've got the second screen I can save stuff and reboot which clears the problem but it's still an unnecessary bit of silliness. Come on Apple, whatever happened to "It just works"?

Yes, that's it exactly. But if I turn the first monitor off and on the computer goes back to normal once the main monitor comes back on.

Re: Logic Pro X 10.4.3 Is out...
I have to reset the PRAM after each update nowadays otherwise it runs the monitor at 30hz instead of 60hz.
The most annoying thing though is that I have a windows machine attached to the same monitor and when using that if the Mac plays a system sound the monitor goes black for a second.
Nothing is set on the Mac to output audio to the monitor but it is sending something to it that causes the issue.

Completely reloaded High Sierra, seems to have done the trick. Fingers crossed.

In fact that didn't work for me but what did was opening Preferences/Display on the second monitor and tweaking the brightness of the iMac's screen slightly, whereupon the image reappeared. Weird!
Think I'll report it to Apple as a bug though fortunately one of relatively small consequence.

I’ll try that next time. I go for long periods of all being well and then the OS decides my boot up screen is now the other monitor. Then all is well for weeks again.
Perhaps this is an apple "feature" to remind us that life is inpermanence in that Buddhist manner. Oh great (sarcasm font on)
