Same. Just posted about it in the Support forum, but only just noticed your thread. Very annoying to keep getting them and if I get another today I’ll be unsubscribing.

Cheers.

Hopefully SOS will get the message that this is unacceptable behaviour and will have pointed discussions behind closed doors with NonLinear (NonPrincipled might be a better name). It must be very frustrating for SOS to have its good name smirched rather by a third party.

I would really be surprised for a third party to act without permission from Sound on Sound, not least because it would be a breach of company law to send a communication and pretend it was from another company.

Unless the third party had been granted some leeway in the contract. We won't know until one of Those Who Know tell us what's going on ...

Which might be a little while :(

I can live with it, considering all the free help I get from the SOS forums here. And quite benign when it comes to some of the other bilge I get - "I have seen you on camera and want $800 otherwise all your computing existence will be deleted, you HAVE BEEN WARNED" - strange seeing as I don't have a cam lol

Hey guys. Peace. Thanks for making us aware of this problem.

1000% apologies -- the mail-shots were obviously NOT meant to be sent multiple times to the same recipients. These emails DID emanate from SOS's MailChimp server (nothing to do with NLE; we do our own marketing) and they were set up prior to staff taking their seasonal holiday break and should have gone out at specific times over the holiday period to target different regions.

Something went wrong in our MailChimp account's queuing system somewhere and instead of customers in the UK, EU, Rest of World, and Americas seeing only one mail-shot targeted at them, my investigations so far (and your feedback) indicate that some folks received 2 or 3 duplicates, the only difference being the subject lines. So it looks like the problem lies with the territorial targeting.

We will investigate further in the New Year.

Season's Greetings
IAN G.

I got 4, does that mean I'm special? :bouncy:

SOS Video Tutorials - 50% off Holiday Savings (received 11.16am)
SOS Video Tutorials - 50% saving at Christmas (received 6:18am)
SOS Video Tutorials - Holiday Savings Just For You (received 5:16am)
SOS Video Tutorials - 50% Saving For You. (received 2:24am)
(All times are today)

I came here to post pretty much what everyone else did, but glad the problem is identified!

Hey, I got four too! But I could be making it up, of course. Bet someone'll be along soon to claim bragging rights on a dozen or more emails ...

Apology happily accepted, at least by me. Have a good New Year, Mr Admin.

He'll have gone off to the study to do the right thing. A shame and I'll miss Ian, but he had no other choice.

Well now. You made a change then went away. This is exactly the situation the gremlins were waiting for!

I'm sure they regarded it as their own special Christmas present

One use of Powerpoint where bullet points would be appropriate. :)
