Austrian Audio OC818 & OC18 Off-Axis Response

Postby ITHertz » Mon Jul 15, 2019 1:19 pm

Hi Folks,

As mentioned in a previous forum post, I'm looking to get a mic with good off-axis response. At the moment my preferred mic is either a MiLab DC-96C or a Pearl CC 22.

However I've just read the review of the Austrian Audio OC818 & OC18. The review mentions that the mics have good off-axis response. My questions is, how good is it with respect to the MiLab and the Pearl?

Cheers,

Chris

I haven't heard the AA mic and can't find any published polar pattern specs for it... but the Milab is certainly very clean off-axis -- about as good as you're going to get, really, and slightly better than the Pearl.
