Hello, I'm looking for the follow up article to this https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques ... ing-part-1
Google isn't helping and neither is the search function on SOS.
Is there any way you could link me to it?
Cheers guys!

Scratch that, I found it.
The unrelated article naming didn't help!
If anyone is interested it's here https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/hit-factory

Here you go:
https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/hit-factory
It was a bit difficult to track down, mainly because it wasn't called Drum Editing, Part 2, but Hit Factory ;)
EDIT: So much can happen in just four minutes on the SOS Forums :headbang:

I've asked Ian G to add links to both articles to aid future readers with navigation!

Thanks guys!
It was a bit misleading to call the first instalment “part 1” and not call the follow up “part 2” but it’s all good
Off the top of anyone’s head, is there any reason this shouldn’t work on a good performance recorded using Glyn Johns overheads and a kick and snare?

Drum Editing In Reaper: Parts 1 + 2
Apologies about that runaround - the editorial folks write titles that work in print, and as you have found they don't always work when searching for series.
I've re-edited both articles to use the common title and added the Part number too, so Google should re-index this within a day or so. The old links will redirect you to the new pages.
For the record, here they are:
Drum Editing In Reaper: Part 1
Drum Editing In Reaper: Part 2
I've also edited the web layouts and enlarged screenshots to make them a bit easier to see/read. The original was published in 2012 when our default was to show smaller images to save bandwidth.
Enjoy!

Let me know how you get on. I was unsuccessful on my first attempt but I tried it on the entire songs drums. I’m going to try section by section and perhaps not try to tighten up drum rolls or embellishments.
The drum track is pretty much in time but I am trying to lock it to the grid for a remix project. I only used four mics- Glyn Johns overheads, kick and snare. Perhaps this would work better with more close mics?
The article is also a bit dated. The main thing that has changed is that the fill gaps option isn’t in the sws menu, it’s buried somewhere else within so I had to search a bit.
