Cubase Tempo Map help

Postby Chromeman » Tue Aug 27, 2019 11:05 am

I'm a bit stuck with Cubase Artist trying to develop a tempo map for an imported single track file. I've got as far as creating hitpoints (the track has a heavy kick so that bit is straighforward) but I don't know how to go about creating a tempo map. In Pro Tools you just add a marker at each transient and the tempo is adjusted accordingly. I'm working with a mate's system so I'm not that familiar with Cubase, hence the question. Is this even possible with Artist or does he need to get Pro?

There’s no tempo detection in Artist? There is in Pro.

This is trivially simple in Cubase Pro, so yes, it may be a limitation of that cut-down version. But TBH I don't know - maybe one for the Cubase forums?

OK thanks, I thought that might be the case. I'll download the 30 day Pro trial to sort this track out. Hopefully it will work as the upgrade is £214 which is not insignificant.
