Hello. Does anyone know of a good (ideally free) standalone beat calculator and/or metronome I can download? The reason I ask is because it's just the sort of free software that someone might just stick a virus in, if I just go and download one.
I find myself wanting to quickly find out tempos (and confirm this with a metronome) outside the DAW from time-to-time.
Thanks
P.S. I mean like the one in Cubase & Nuendo, where you had to tap the clunky spacebar to the music.

This free one is available from three sites (and recommended) but how can I trust the download?

Hi Elephone!
Many virus checkers provide a right-click option within Explorer to scan individual files for viruses and other nasties, so if you're at all concerned just do that before you load/install the utility.
I use Reaper's integral metronome and tap tempo functions, but find Liqube's Delay Time Calculator useful for tap tempo stuff when I'm not using a sequencer:

Thanks. By beat calculator, I mean to tap to the pulse of the music and it tells you the tempo (or some multiple of it). I have that delay calculator also. Sometimes I have a project open in Reaper, so I'd rather just use a standalone one.
Cheers.

Er, are we at cross purposes Elephone?
See that button on the bottom row labeled 'Tap'?
You can tap that to the pulse of the music and it will indeed tell you the tempo :headbang:
The DelayTimeCalculator utility is not just a static calculator ;)
