Just as good as the room they're in :)

With these mics there isn't "better", there's the sound you want.

The Manly I tried (gold reference) was a little bright. Not unpleasant, just didn't need the same amount of hi shelf that I usually put.

Never tried the Telefunken U47, but at that price it'd better be good :D

Just keep in mind that you can truly judge a mic only after your room sounds good and - even in the best sounding room - there will be still locations which are better than others (i.e. where the little interference which still happens makes the signal more pleasant).

When mics are judged properly, you really don't need to spend that amount of money to properly capture a great performance... if the performance is great.

If it isn't... no mic can make a poor performer sound good.

Before Autotune, that is. :bouncy:
