I am setting up a MacPro 5.1 with 10.13.6
It seems to be working ok, there is only startup disk, called Untitled, that shows up in System preferences but does not show up on the desktop ?
Thus I can't copy anything to it.

Go to Finder > Preferences, and click on General.
Is the option ticked for "hard discs"?

Run the disk utility and attempt to repair the drive.
