It turns out that was the education prices. Ignore all of that.

It's just a code - you need to download and install the toontrack manager and just put it in, and it keeps track of all your products and update needs.

So it really matters little where you buy it from - so long the code is valid. The boxed version is really killing trees for no reason :D

Yep, wasn't bothered about the boxed version. Cheapest non-education version is £105.
Which seems quite reasonable.

It might be a tad late, but here's MDrummer: https://www.dropbox.com/s/655976eqcyq07 ... s.wav?dl=0

The only tweaking I made was to use my custom kit, which is all Mapex Black Widow drums with Zildjian cymbals. Realisticity and Super-realisticity are both set to 100%, which I think has caused some issue with relative timings and volumes of each drum. Not 100% happy tbh.

EDIT: Yeah I'm not happy with that, but chalk it down to my bad engineering, it doesn't sound as "on" as the other samples posted

That wasn’t a criticism of the original MIDI recording by the way, Drew  Just a criticism of my tinkering

Grand! Let me know what you think... it’s useful for me as well as helping you figure out what to buy!

Interesting, it doesn't look like the Midi has mapped across in the way I'd expect so it's not really a like for like comparison.
That being said the sounds sound pretty straight and unembellised to my ears. They don't quite grab me in the same way that the EZdrummer or Solid ones do, but that's probably as much down to choice of kit.

I find myself in a bit of a quandary, so I'll probably do my usual thing of prevaricating until I suddenly find myself in need - at which point, nothing will be on sale and I'll end up either sticking with what I've got and being disatisfied with the sound or paying too much for something I'm not certain about.
But it's good to have a process. :/

Yes that’s probably down to my playing with the realisticity settings!

EDIT: or do you mean the MIDI mapping for the drums? I believe I was using GM Standard

I meant the midi mapping for the drums, they were played in from a Roland e-drum kit so it might be there's just one part of the kit out. I haven't quite figured it out yet!

Native Instruments sell sampled drum kits that come with libraries of midi patterns.

I have an unreasonable fear of Kontakt.
I have no idea why! :)
Maybe just because of the size of the rabbit hole...

No the sample player comes with the purchased instruments.
You only need the full version of Kontakt if you’re doing your own sampling.
