I've been asking round some of the pubs I deal with and there seems to be a theme emerging that complete lockdown is less damaging, at least psychologically, than mixed or confused messages but that in turn has a commercial aspect which compounds the issue.

Horace Trubridge, MU General Secretary, commented:

"While this announcement is warmly welcomed by the Union, we know that it won't result in MU members being able to make a living again in the short to medium term."
