Very impressed with this, It fits perfectly with a new album idea, just wondering as usual, if anyone else here has one, impressions?

Only 8 algorithms ?
With 4-op FM the full set of permutations is 12 algorithms.

for hands on FM the only thing Ive seen is a Reface DX + DTronics controller

The Reface is 4-OP but has feedback on every OP, which is nice.
Also has 2 effects & Looper. Only 32 presets.

DX sounds smooth & creamy. Not sure if thats what you want or how it compares to the chips in the MEGA FM.

I think this Mega is worth it, it’s £450, and it really does sound incredibly good, it’s only 4 operator, but the hands-on control makes it all worthwhile. I had a DX7 for years, and a Yamaha TX81Z, but this sounds very different, I’m not after the types of sounds I got on the DX, this sounds much more aggressive, if need be, I think I’m going get one, the sounds I’m after just seem to fall out of it.

Note, the MegaFM is quite noisy.

I have two AY3 modules, Twisted Electrons makes great stuff.

That’s fine, I’m just freaking out "use the LFO to change algorithms"

:crazy: :crazy: :crazy:

This has to be used with an 8 octave master keyboard, can you imagine the aliasing fun!

it's like the korg volca fm synth with more hands on control, expensive as it is;
