That’s the trouble Elf, I don’t "need" to record any, I’ve enough in my back catalogue to keep ten record companies happy for the next twenty years! I suppose my motivation isn’t what it used to be, and I don’t actually worry about wasting time at all, sorting the gear out is quite therapeutic, just like my car, I don’t actually drive it much at all, but just looking at it gives me a lot of pleasure.

Yeah :thumbup: I think it’s at least worth investing a modest amount in one, it’ll be an experiment, if it works it works.

Please, for the sake of all our sanity, don't just buy the first cheap digital mixer you see!

Do the research. Do the planning. Read the manual. Think carefully about what facilities you need and how your shortlisted digital mixers might work in your system and with your workflow requirements!

And more than anything, put the effort into learning how to use it properly before giving up as too steep a learning curve and chucking it out as unworkable!

I’m actually loath to spend anything, I’ve got my stuff sounding very good, no interference, even running on an extension block ( see house rewire thread)
I’m using my patch bays purely as totally unbalanced pedal and effect bays, all synths plugged into my Mackie, which feeds a few inputs of my interface, no problems so far, so I’m leaving well alone.
