I like that people have embraced the VST idea this time. I'm surprised to see how many there were, and I'll be interested who can spot the difference. One track that I had down as a big analogue is probably Arturia.

Since Dave took down the previous playlists I'm not even going to try and guess who did what...no idea! :tongue:

Well to me Track 1 immediately screamed Yoshimi Pi, but then I thought this must be too easy, so I suspect I'm wrong ;)

I'm particularly intrigued by the aggressive attitude of Track 2 too, but no guesses.

Track 4 (now confirmed as Prophet 8 Rev 2) has a huge bottom end - any EQ used on that once its creator is unmasked, or is it as nature intended? :shocked:

I really wanted to take part in this one but once again I find myself in the same boat as Random Guitarist.

I have sat down several times over the last month and I have 5 ideas, all different from each other. I just don't know how to extrapolate them into full songs. F***ing 4-bar-loop syndrome!

When I played in a band I used to come up with ideas all the time and the different band members would chip in and guide them into something useful and we'd make some great progressive music. I have just never been able to work on my own. I don't know if I'm being too critical or what. I do know that I have to practise finishing 'songs' to get good it and along the way there'll be a lot of shite, but at least it's practising the art of finishing a number! I am totally frustrated! :madas:

The only way I can escape this is to sit down and noodle away with the guitar and let the music form in a more organic manner rather that is being a more sort of lego-land construction. Or if not noodling away with the guitar, go to the piano and do the same sort of thing, go where the chords take you as opposed to going around and around in circles, well loops to be precise, now I know what they mean by going loopy!

Wow, a really high standard of playing and writing across the field.

I couldn't hazard even the beginnings of a guess as to what was used in each track, but in most cases I'd have been very surprised to discover it was only one synth if I hadn't known already.

Unfortunately I spent the entire time the challenge was live preparing for a big job interview so I barely got started on an entry - and I didn't even get the job!

Track 1 - D50 or similar?
Track 2 - DSI ob6?
Track 7 - Moog sub harmonicon?
Track 8 - Behringer clone odyssey?
Track 10 - yoshimi?
Track 12 - matrix brute
Track 14 - Waldorf Blofeld or largo?
