Hi there,
Just wondering if you can tell me........
On the CME UF5,
do all the faders and the transport controls work properly
when using it over midi only.... rather than USB?
Thinking of getting one, but i use windows 7 64bit
and there are no drivers for this, and the faders/controls
are what i want it for over other controller keyboards.
Cheers.

As far as my UF6 connected by USB is concerned:-
With Reason, everything works
With Pro Tools, Nothing works (though I have heard of peope spending hours with Midi-Ox and getting some functions).
Cheers
Dave

Thanks,
but I need to know if the faders will work over a
Midi connection, not the USB connection, which I can't use.
Cheers.

if they wont work at all via a midi connection,
makes the thing pretty useless.
Might have to re-think it then

I had a UF6, the next model up, and the faders worked fine over USB and MIDI.
The transport controls also worked over both, but they sent some proprietary codes over MIDI which you couldn't remap, but could be over USB.

Just dim memory of a problem with an early version of Cubase but could the issue be down to whether the DAW supports the correct MIDI control? I.e. "Mackie".

Hi semmytakaliuang!
The easiest approach in situations like this is to use a utility like the freeware MIDIOX, so you can monitor what data is coming out of the UF6 MIDI output as you move each control.
However, I don't recall any limitations of the MIDI output compared with the USB connection (which I abandoned after compatibility problems with USB chipsets).
Hope this helps!
