Hi Fellas,
I have a question about what chorus can do to the dimension/depth/width of your track. And how it is achieved.
In advance, thanks for your time responding

Re: Chorus Effect on Dimension of your track
I don't have a very good chorus plug in, but the two that I do have (which I won't mention because that's not important), I use for two purposes:
- If I'm using a vocal sample it can make it more present in the mix
- with pads, it can add a widening effect
I always think of it as a stereo widening effect. There are other ways to achieve the same thing, no doubt, but that's what I use it for.

Hey Kingsmoot,
First thanks for your time. Yes, I'm brand new on this forum. I needed some other perspectives on this. I've read somewhere that chorus can push back instruments/sounds in the mix and I wondered how. The two purposes you wrote about are also going to be quite handy in future productions. Again thank you for the tips and advice

Maybe in a similar way that reverb makes a sound more distant? By widening the stereo image the sound becomes more diffuse/less focused?

Hey Sam,
Yeah, I think so too. It is all time-based eventually. I guess it depends on how you set your modulation and how much out-of-phase you want your sound to be
