Isn't 'polarity' what a comedy pole dancer does?

Ha! I was worried someone might take me up on that. Given my photoshop skills (or absence thereof) I think I might just be quicker finishing the build! :)

Re: A Long List of Compromises - new music space
I've often felt that making broadband absorbers using 4"x1" timber and additional corner bracing was over-engineering, especially when using 60Kg/m3 rockwool.
So here's the test panel with 1"x1.5" roofing batten timber, with supporting straps of weed-blocker (2 front to hold the rockwool in place, 1 rear to stop the panels flexing outward).

4 blocks and the next batch of frames:

And that was it for this weekend. :)

Having painted over it on the bass traps I think I'm glad I didn't go with 'building site blue/green'.

Re: A Long List of Compromises - new music space
I used 2 x 1 PAR (I worked for a timber merchants in the '70s) for my frames then spaced them off the surface with another batten of 2 x 1 on the finished panel. No need for corner braces if you use decent sized screws and butt joints.
But your method works just as well (especially as my framing was also covered by the fabric).
