There have been occasions when I have used Belling Lee IEC filters when building very sensitive RF gear. But, for the most part, are totally unnecessary.

Interesting about MOD transmissions. Without saying anything which will make the people in black turn up on my doorstep, at lunchtime, where I work, I walk across to the chapel which has an electronic cathedral organ, to practise. And quite often, I take my little XHDATA D-808 radio with me, to listen to amateur radio CW and SSB, because the chapel is so electrically quite, almost free of RF interference, (QRM in ham radio speak). Despite being 50 metres from a massive, active, comms tower!!

Thanks all and thanks Hugh. I’m starting to think I should send the Furman back.
