Analog Empire: Bass & Lead marks the final instalment in Melda Production’s vintage hardware-inspired virtual instrument series, and delivers a collection of multi-sampled bass and lead sounds powered by an array of sought-after synthesizers.
Designed for users in search of expressive, high-quality sounds but without the complexity of a fully fledged virtual synth, the new arrival features an intuitive interface that promises to deliver great-sounding results quickly and easily. Sound A and Sound B slots make it possible to load up two classic analogue synth models, each of which are kitted out with their own independent Pitch, Drift, Unison, Tone and Spread parameters; there’s also a central Mix control for setting the balance between the two sounds.
The lower section of the GUI is occupied by amp and filter envelopes, and a multi-mode resonant filter. a dedicated effects section then includes the following processors:
- Amp: A versatile effect that can be used for everything from subtle analogue-style ‘richness’ to more aggressive distortion.
- Chorus: Add classic, lush modulation to widen and thicken up patches.
- Delay: Creates depth, space and rhythmic echoes.
- Space: A vintage-inspired reverb with a built-in ducker function that helps to keep lead and bass parts as the main focus.
